* I have myself very angry with Hearing community.
* I have to aware RNId they said they backward not support deaf genes. Secondly RNId disagree for us deaf people to have designer babies as deaf child. As Same as Nazi in RNId statement. RNId will tell people to influence to MPs. MPs and House of Lords. Two. RNId want to influence things. You all have to wake up.

RNID comment on IVF embryo debate - 11 January 2008
Commenting ahead of the reading of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill in the House of Lords on Tuesday 15 January 2008, Jackie Ballard, RNID chief executive, said:
"Decisions about which embryo to implant are for parents and their clinicians, but RNID does not support the selection of a deaf embryo for IVF implantation where a hearing embryo is available.
"Where deaf or hearing parents have deaf children with or without IVF treatment, RNID would of course unconditionally support the child and their family.
"However we do not agree with the creation of designer babies by proactive selection for deafness or any other attribute.
"We will be working with MPs to ensure that no deaf parent feels under any pressure to have their embryos screened during IVF treatment, and ensure proper communication support is in place so parents can make an informed decision."

Here in America, sometimes we got so frustrating not understand interpreter. Sometimes we did asked for another qualified interpreter. I wonder if you can tell someone that anyone of you do not understand interpreter and get another qualified interpreter who can understand legal terminology words? I just hope that everything will be work out in UK!

We apologise for a delay as we are busy campaigning on IVF and deaf genes, object to the Government.
Yes we agree very important to get interpreters for IVF treatments, ensure deaf people to access to the service.
We are concerned with the Bill will stop deaf people to pass the deaf genes to next generation.

There is no actual 'removal' of a deaf gene mentioned in the Bill, it says they (embryos), shouldn't be preferred IF an alternative exists. Where only two choices exist, and both are with a deaf gene, they can be allowed if the parents opt for that. (Just clarifying). 'Choice' is removed when alternatives are there.. this is because deaf lesbians in America challenged the reproductive area, by seeking out a deaf donor, (As mentioned in clause 14), the state has no such obligation to support that.
